Lyrics 6 New song about Kid Rock

Newest (better) song about Kid Rock

Woke up this morning with better ideas for a song about Kid Rock. Left the old one posted with the explanation about why I wrote it. Had a feeling I'd end up rewriting the dang song, like this version much better. It's more about him and less about how I'd like to be with him. I mean seriously, if you're gonna write a song about a person shouldn't it be about them and not yourself?!!

Soon as I got up this morning I began jotting down notes for the new song but then when I opened blogger and started writing just about everything changed. Instead of listening to Kid's song Picture on YouTube while writing like I did with the other song I was playing his song First Kiss over and over. I'll post it after my song lyrics. Great song, takes me back to the summer of '70. Unlike the video, most of the stuff we did that summer was a little on the wrong side of the law. Drag racing on a country road, oh I didn't drive, I was on the back seat hanging on for dear life. No seat belts back then. Also rode with a guy down a straight stretch of an Interstate doing 120 miles an hour. I think the posted speed limit was only about 55 or 60 mph. Another 'white knuckle' experience for me. We all drank a lot, was in a couple minor accidents while riding with people who were drinking. Lost several friends to major accidents where they were drinking and driving. Wild times that left good, bad and sad memories.

Here's my newest song lyrics about Kid Rock. Still have as big a crush on him as I did when I wrote the other song. Yeah, I know, dream on. lol

Paid His Dues

(Verse)
Kid Rock's got a pretty face
and he keeps a hectic chase
needs some time in his own space
so he retreats to a place
where he drives fast cars

(Chorus)
Paid his dues now he's a star
he drives cycles and fast cars
Gotta a yen for whiskey bars
doesn't take him very far
but he still goes

(Bridge)
Kid's a rapper and a rocker and a blues kind of guy
Had the pedal to the metal as he drove to the sky
Paid some dues as he cruised but he got way too high
so he backed off the stash so he wouldn't die

(Verse)
Gotta a country kind of pace
and a body full of grace
Sings some vocals plays a bass
He'll run any kind of race
even if it scars

(Chorus)
Paid his dues now he's a star
he drives cycles and fast cars
Gotta a yen for whiskey bars
doesn't take him very far
but he still goes

(Verse)
Gotta past he can't erase
got some mem'ries to replace
wish we could get to first base
with my feet on his staircase
heading to the stars

(Chorus)
Paid his dues now he's a star
he drives cycles and fast cars
Gotta a yen for whiskey bars
doesn't take him very far
but he still goes

  1. Update: Crush on Kid Rock is over. Need someone more mature to make sure that I stay out of trouble, not too sure he could do that. lol
